Mike Myers gave a new character an airing on Saturday Night Live's 25th anniversary show, reports this week's heat magazine. Dieter the German art critic, who confounded celebrity guests on the show, is to appear in Myers' new film Sprockets, a project which has already been described as a kind of German Alan Partridge.
A star-studded evening broadcast from New York's Rockefeller centre, SNL boasted the cream of US comics, most of whom made their mark on the show since its creation in the seventies.** Jim Carrey, Steve Martin, Chris Rock** and Bill Murray were among those who performed, the latter teasing Catherine Zeta Jones' beau Michael Douglas by taunting, "Oh my God, I am such a big fan...of your father.
