Having tackled the Muppets (not to mention Ali G and the Conchords), James Bobin would seem to have the right skillset to deal with one Ryan Rodney Reynolds for a future film the writer/actor has planned. Bobin is now in talks to direct the Clue remake that Twentieth Century F... Sorry, Twentieth Century has been developing for a while.
Back in September, it looked like Jason Bateman would be sitting in the director's chair, in addition to working on the script and co-starring with Reynolds. Alas, schedule clashes with his TV drama Ozark have led him to step away, and now Bobin is looking likely to take his spot, at least behind the camera.
Deadpool duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have already contributed at least one draft of the script, which would once again adapt the board game (known as Cluedo here) and put a fun spin on a murder mystery (even if it does have to compete in a world where Rian Johnson is slowly building a Knives Out franchise).
Bobin most recently directed Dora And The Lost City Of Gold, and Clue will, if he makes a a deal, serve as his next film. There's no release date on the books for this one just yet.
