So much to answer for…

David Blair is planning a Moors murder pic with John Hannah as Ian Brady. It will be based on a script by Emlyn Williams, who wrote the brilliant Beyond Belief after the trial. Hannah reckons, "It is a fantastic script. It is really not about the violence, it is about how Brady and Hindley became what they are." It certainly is fascinating subject matter for a feature. Predictably, however, the families of the victims aren't happy. Ann West, mother of murdered 10-year-old Lesley Ann Downey, said "It's just blood money. They should let these children rest in peace now." A story we'll be keeping our eyes on.
