Moving on up

It’s a quiet victory but an important one. The Phantom Menace has finally beaten the original Star Wars in the box office stakes. Although The Phantom Menace currently languishes behind Star Wars on the States box office table, the movie’s success outside America has pushed Episode I ahead of Episode IV for the first time. This week’s take saw The Phantom Menace power its way to a hot $339 million in total international (ie: non-American) box office takings.
