Oscar winner Cataline Sandino Moreno (try saying that ten times fast) has been cast in 19th century drama The Heart of the Earth. The film, set in Andalusia, uses the back drop of British-owned mines and the social upheaval they cause, to tell the story of a friendship between a spanish woman and an English woman.
The film is based on a true story of Cuban anarchist Maximiliano Tornet whose arrival in Andalusia caused a strike and then a massacre.
The $14 million budgeted film will shoot over twelve weeks in Spain and Portugal from the end of this month. Sienna Guillory, Hugh Dancy and Bernard Hill have also joined the cast.
