Monica Lewinsky is in talks over a multi-million dollar contract to star in an Italian-made comedy film, Italian newspapers reported Tuesday. The former White House intern who came close to toppling President Clinton is considering a leading role in a Christmas film to be produced by Italian film company Filmauro. Some newspapers reported that Lewinsky may already have signed a hefty deal with Filmauro, most famous for its Italian comedies laced with sex and nudity. Filmauro, owned by film maker Dino De Laurentis' nephew Aurelio, declined to comment on the reports. "I'm afraid neither Filmauro nor De Laurentis can comment on such issues," a spokeswoman for the film-maker said. Newspapers said Lewinsky had been first approached by Filmauro while she was promoting her book Monica's Story in Italy earlier this month. Lewinsky, 25, has been flooded with offers from film and television producers and publishers ever since news broke about her affair with President Clinton. A British erotic cable television station offered Lewinsky $1 million to endorse a new series reconstructing the full intimate details of her affair. But Lewinsky has so far limited herself to publishing her memoirs and giving a handful of television interviews.
