Possibly taking to heart the scientific studies that link the consumption of nutritionally deficient foodstuffs with habitual movie-watching, fast food giant, McDonald's has made its first foray into the movie world. Further cutting back on the physical exertion required of indolent citizens across the US capital, the company has installed DVD rental machines outside 14 of its Washington DC outlets. Customers will now have the opportunity to eat junk food whilesaving themselves the physically demanding task of navigating to the video store while juggling a litre of coke, three apple pies and a super-sized quarter-pounder meal. This move to provide Americans with a stress-free leisure experience is reported to be part of a move to attract more customers to McDonald's restaurants and give them the edge over other quality dining establishments. Rumours that customers will soon be able to pay counter staff to watch the movie and then provide a labour-saving thirty-second synopsis have, however, proved unfounded.
