If you’ve got a few spare grand stashed away, your rainy day has truly arrived. On the other hand, if your bank account is looking a little less healthy, it might be time to find yourself a sugar daddy – whatever your gender. For on 10 October, there’s a little auction in London that has a few knick-knacks you might just be interested in. For a mere three G’s, for example, you could be the proud owner of the original blueprints of the Millennium Falcon itself. In these invaluable documents - somehow prised out of the hands of the notoriously tight George Lucas - the creation of perhaps the coolest spacecraft of movie history can be traced; the Falcon’s huge, nearly always malfunctioning cockpit, and even those gun turrets Han and Luke had so much fun larking about in. Alternatively, if a certain wizard is more your bag, shelling out a couple of thousand for the handwritten envelope inviting Harry to Hogwarts may be in order. Or you could pick up Tom Hank’s helmet from Saving Private Ryan, maybe finishing your collection with the dog tags, pen knives and leather holster all worn by the star during filming. With a whole load of other items available for viewing online at www.cooperowen.com, the auction will take place at the Cooper Owen Galleries on 10 October. We can but dream.
Own The Millennium Falcon
...or the blueprints at least.
