Mickey Mouse On Strike

Visitors to Disneyland Paris have been confronted by picket lines instead of a lot of people dressed up in outfits pretending to be Disney characters, as the actors hired to fill the roles remain on strike. The strike began on June 24, when around 100 performers walked out in an effort to force through a 7% pay rise, claiming they are not treated as serious thespians. The strike has hit the company's shares, which fell 3% on Tuesday, followed by another 2% yesterday. Management are playing down the strike, claiming that actors are gradually returning to work, but unions said that the strike action was growing, with restaurant staff and technicians joining the actors. We're sure it has nothing to do with wanting to go home to cheer on Les Bleus in the World Cup.
