At the end of last month, word arrived that Chloe Grace Moretz would be one of the humans dealing with CG versions of Hanna-Barbera legends Tom and Jerry in a new film blending live-action with the characters. The call sheet is expanding by one as Michael Peña is joining the cast.

Tim Story is in the director's chair for this one, with Moretz playing Kayla, a new employee at a posh hotel where Jerry has turned up and is threatening to ruin a glamorous wedding. She hires down-on-his-luck alley cat Tom to get rid of him, which, as is usually true, proves easier said than done. And they may need each other anyway, as Kayla's villainous boss is out to get both of them.

Peña is that boss, a snooty type named Terrance, who is the deputy general manager of the hotel. He hired Kayla on a temporary basis, and is pitted against her when she starts to impress upper management with her skills.

With a 2021 release date in the books, the film should be shooting this year. Peña will be seen in Dora And The Lost City Of Gold, due on 16 August and next year pops up as Mr. Roarke in the Fantasy Island film that the Blumhouse team are producing.
