Trainspotting star, Ewan McGregor - soon to hit the screens in July as Obi-wan-Kebnobi in Star Wars - Episode I: The Phantom Menace - has crashed his motorcycle while touring around Scotland with his father, Jim. The crash was caused by every biker's nemesis, diesel, and comes only days after Ewan signed up and leant his full support to the Motorcycle News Stop The Spills campaign, intended to stop lethal diesel spills on the road left by poorly maintained vehicles. McGregor and his father were enjoying a two-day break touring in Scotland, Ewan riding a Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird loan-bike and his father a Honda Deauville. Jim was following Ewan when the crash happened: "We were riding really slowly through Inverness and as Ewan straightened up to exit a roundabout he just went down. I'm pretty sure it was diesel. There was no other reason for the crash." The bike suffered only cosmetic damage and a broken footrest, but this wasn't the first time Ewan had encountered the slippery stuff, during a ride-out to Brighton he came across diesel but was lucky enough to stay on: "I crapped myself, my legs were flailing everywhere," he said of the unfortunate incident.
