Empire Online reported last month that Warner Bros planned a massive worldwide synchronised opening of The Matrix Revolutions in a bid to stave off piracy and break some box office records into the bargain. Now that the full sum of cinemas expected to show the movie this Wednesday has been revealed, industry pundits are predicting that Warner Bros could recoup the $200 million estimated cost of making the movie in just five days on release. More than 80 countries will show the film simulataneously when it opens tomorrow at 6am in Los Angeles, 9am in New York, 2pm in London, 5pm in Moscow, 10pm in Beijing and 11pm in Tokyo. That also includes a release of the film in IMAX cinemas across the world, including IMAX theatres in London, Bradford and Manchester.
