The cartoon that enlisted the help of religious scholars and men of the cloth throughout development has been banned in Malaysia - incredibly, on religious grounds. Despite DreamWorks' efforts to ensure accuracy and religious fairness, the doomed flick has come under attack from some Moslem sects. The chairman of the official film censorship board is quoted as saying, "We found [the movie] insensitive for religious and moral reasons. Because of the many races in Malaysia, religion is a very sensitive issue." However, a disappointed staff member at a Malaysian cinema that's been running trailers for the movie for weeks remarked, "Everybody was anticipating The Prince of Egypt. It's just a cartoon. I don't see why they should ban it."
