With his debut film, Jordan Peele created one of the most celebrated, game-changing films of the decade – Get Out proved a visionary treat that was a huge hit with cinemagoers, critics, and awards ceremonies alike. And in a matter of weeks, he’ll be back with his second movie Us – a top-secret social-horror with a stellar cast, including the likes of Lupita Nyong’o, Black Panther breakout Winston Duke and Elisabeth Moss. The plot and further details are all tightly under wraps until the trailer drops on Christmas day – but in the meantime, Empire has an exclusive image selected by Peele himself, showing a blood-streaked Nyong’o in chains.
“This image captures Adelaide as she approaches the threshold of a nightmarish journey, prepared to kill anything everything in her way,” the filmmaker teases in the Ultimate 2019 Preview issue of Empire, arriving on Thursday 27 December.
