The cast for superhero sequel Shazam! Fury Of The Gods just keeps getting better. The latest addition is Lucy Liu, who will play Kalypso, one the villains.
And to add to the appeal, she'll be the sister of Hespera (Helen Mirren, who joined the film recently), and cause trouble for Zachary Levi's hero. Neither woman appears to have a direct link to a DC Comics character, but they're both daughters of the god Atlas, whose stamina makes up one of Shazam's powers.
David F. Sandberg is directing the film once again, with Henry Gayden returning to script. Asher Angel is also back to play Billy Batson, Shazam's alter ego. With luck, the rest of the Shazamily will also appear.
The film should be shooting this year with a planned release date of June 2023.
