Writer/director Agnieszka Vosloo is having quite the rollercoaster ride into Hollywood. Her short film Pate won several prizes as the 2001 Sundance Fest and she’s just nabbed the job of directing a supernatural thriller called After.Life (the full stop in the middle is part of the title, not a typo).
The plot finds a young woman in a limbo-on-Earth state, stuck between life and death, unable to tell anyone that she’s still with us and facing being buried alive. Production company Constellation Entertainment is funding the flick and its president Brad Gilbert gushed about the Vosloo-penned script to The Hollywood Reporter. "It's a thriller with a sensibility of a 21st century Psycho. It's both highly suspenseful and deeply moving." He was also enthusiastic about his choice of director. “I think she's the next Roman Polanski. Pate was shocking and visually brilliant. It showed us that she was perfect for the film."
