When director Daryl Goodrich was working on his five-minute film Inspiration, about kids driven to greatness by the Olympics as part of Britain’s bid for the Games, little did he know that Hollywood was going to call.
Nickelodeon Films is splashing out $30 million to turn the short into a fully-fledged feature film called Legend Of The Rings. “It will be a family film, very much an inspirational one,” Goodrich told Variety, adding, "it's important to address the issue of failure, too. This must not simply be a rose-tinted movie." Because after all, what’s a British sporting event without a little failure?
