The life and tragic death of Joy Division signer Ian Curtis will be chronicled in All The Time, to be directed by music video helmer Jamie Thraves.

Curtis committed suicide in 1980, with just two Division albums complete. His bandmates moved on to become New Order, but there’s still a huge cult around Curtis, with his story cropping up in the likes of 24 Hour Party People.

All The Time will use Mick Middles and Lindsay Reade’s book Torn Apart: The Life Of Ian Curtis as its source material, with a script from Tom Browne. It’ll look at Curtis’ early efforts to launch Joy Division while also working a day job.

With a shoot planned for Manchester, expect it to start production this year.
