With the new-look Conan well into pre-production, Latino Review bring news that the young version of the warlord-smiting Cimmerian will be played by Leo Howard, last seen scampering around the carnage that was G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra.
Sharp-eyed readers will have spotted the 12 year-old actor as Young Snake Eyes in Stephen Sommer's actioner. In that he grew up to be Ray Parks; in **Conan **he'll mature into Jason Momao, but Marcus Nispel's reboot of Robert E. Howard's should require at least some kicking, punching and serpent-wrestling of him before he does.
If so, the tweenager is well-placed: his website lists an eye-watering array of martial arts skills, including kamas, bo staff and sword-fighting, all of which should come in handy in dealing with renegade Vanir. Also on the Howard resume, and equally terrifying, is an appearance in Robert Rodriguez's Shorts.
