Lawyers' Fear: Wolf Creek Affects Trial?

Australian prosecutors have asked the distributors of horror flick Wolf Creek to delay its release, for fear that it could prejudice a murder trial. Bradley Murdoch, a former mechanic, is accused of murdering tourist Peter Falconio on a remote outback highway four years ago. The body of the 28-year-old Brit has never been found, and Murdoch has denied the charges. The film is loosely based on the Falconio mystery, with the main character being described as an evil version of Crocodile Dundee. Murdoch’s hearing is due to start in Darwin on Monday, and Wolf Creek’s distributors have delayed the release in the Northern Territories as a result (although it will open on the November 3 date elsewhere), even though the director expressed surprise that such an important case could, in any way, be affected by what is "very clearly a classic horror movie".
