While the shooting schedule might be a little up in the air for now, the team behind The Crown is moving forward with other details. Jonathan Pryce is aboard to be the latest Prince Philip for the series.

Pryce will succeed Matt Smith and current incumbent Tobias Menzies in the role, tackling the prince as he faces aging challenges in the 1980s and beyond. He'll be starring alongside Imelda Staunton (as the Queen) and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret.

Netflix (and show runner) Peter Morgan recently announced that The Crown will now run for sixth seasons instead of the originally planned five, but despite the episode extension, it will still end in the early 2000s, so don't go expecting a Meghan Markle casting announcement anytime soon. Unless there's another change...

Series 4, meanwhile, will arrive on the streaming service later this year.
