With Denzel Washington and Rami Malek now confirmed as aboard crime thriller The Little Things, the search is wrapping up for someone to be their antagonist. Jared Leto is in early talks to play a killer in the film.

Writer/director John Lee Hancock wrote the script and is also on to bring the film to life. The story follows a burned-out Kern County deputy sheriff named Deke (Washington), who teams with a crack LASD detective, Baxter (Malek), to reel in Leto's wily serial slaughterer. Deke’s nose for the “little things” proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past...

Warner Bros. is producing the film, which Hancock is looking to start shooting this autumn. As for Leto, he'll be seen in Sony's expanded Spider-universe for living vampire pic Morbius, due out on 31 July next year.
