James Wan

Though he found big success with Aquaman, James Wan is definitely not pivoting away from horror any time soon. He's already producing a variety of movies (including the ongoing Conjuring universe and its various spin-off tentacles) and has now decided to slot in an untitled, largely secret horror movie before he dives back into the DC world.

No plot details have been revealed for the film, which the director co-wrote with The Nun actor Ingrid Bisu (which means she may also pop up in front of the camera), but we do know he'll also produce via his Atomic Monster Company.

According to Variety, he's scored financing through Chinese companies Starlight Media and Midas Innovation, and will aim to kick off shooting the film this autumn in Los Angeles (with Warner Bros.' New Line arm distributing) before he switches to pre-production on the Aquaman sequel next year. And, let's not forget he's also producing a horror-focused Aquaman spin-off based around the creatures of the Trench.
