Kevin Bacon is finalising a deal to play the title role in The Hollow Man, a drama about an invisible man. Bacon and the incredibly stunning Elisabeth Shue play scientists who are former lovers. Teaming up with another boffin, who Shue's character is romantically involved with, the trio uncover the secret of invisibility. Their guinea pig - Bacon, who like most invariably would, uses his new-found vanishing act to wreak havoc. Directing the film is Starship Troopers' Paul Verhoeven, who will begin the job for Columbia Pictures in April, the script of which has shown itself from Andrew Marlowe (Air Force One). Evidenty blessed with quality leading ladies, Bacon - who recently completed A Stir of Echoes for director David Koepp - last appeared on-screen opposite Neve Campbell and Denise Richards in last year's Wild Things.
