Screen specialists turn to Stephen King...

Toronto-based cinema-screen builder and filmmaker, Imax Corp. is to make its debut in the horror genre by optioning Stephen King's The Sun Dog. First published in 1990 as one of four novellas in King's best-selling Four Past Midnight, Sun Dog tells of a teen who receives an instant camera for his birthday, shortly after which he discovers it captures bizarre images from another dimension. Alongside his partner Michael Gore, executive producing is Lawrence D Cohen, who commented of King's work, "It's one of Stephen's truly memorable tales." The project will make this Cohen's fourth King adaptation. His first was the 1976 Brian De Palma-directed Carrie. Gore, who won 1980 song and score Oscars for Fame, will write the music for the film.
