Well, that escalated quickly. Mere hours after the initial news about Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller's new film broke, we know who could potentially be starring in Three Thousand Years Of Longing. Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton are provisionally attached to lead the cast.

We say "provisionally", because the film doesn't have a studio home or financing in place yet, so the busy actors would only commit once Miller and his producers have everything in place. But the chance to see Elba and Swinton starring in an epic from Miller? That already has us hoping this all falls into place.

Plot details are scarce, though the movie – which has also been going by the title Djinn – is apparently a love story involving a genie.

Miller, who wrote and directed the new film, is looking to shoot next year and rights will be on sale next week's American Film Market. Elba is at work as bad guy Bristol for Hobbs And Shaw and recently nabbed a very different villain role in Cats. Swinton is one of the stars of the Suspiria remake, due out here on 16 November.
