The Narnia-alike family fantasies continue to trundle into production. The latest to be optioned is author Dick King-Smith’s The Water Horse.

Walden Media and Revolution Studios have hired Robert Nelson Jacobs to adapt the story of a lonely boy in Scotland who finds a mysterious egg. It hatches in a mythical sea monster of Scottish legend. Jay Russell, of Ladder 49 and My Dog Skip fame, will direct the film.
