The Hoff Signs Up For Anaconda Sequels

Just when you thought the Anaconda series had eaten itself, word reaches us from the deepest depths of Moviehole that the Jennifer Lopez/Jon Voight shlockfest turned Matthew Marsden arse-puckering sequel is all set for a third and, lord help us, fourth instalment. Fear not though, the hairy-chested ball of human Edam that is David Hasselhoff has signed on to save the day.

Sony is reportedly moving ahead with two more sequels to Anaconda with Baywatch’s erstwhile Mitch Buchanan playing a mercenary-for-hire who accepts a mission from a billionaire to capture a dangerous snake that could possibly help cure a terminal illness.

The films are to be directed by Don E FauntLeRoy, who is notable for being a cinematographer on Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2 – he no doubt hopes Anaconda 3: The Offspring will bring him to a wider audience.

The plan is to shoot it in Romania (without the original cast, of course), then schedule it on the Sci-Fi Channel and release it on DVD thereafter. Part four will undoubtedly see the light of soon after that.
