Hobbs And Shaw Go Old School In The New Trailer

Hobbs And Shaw

It makes sense for the Fast & Furious: Hobbs And Shaw trailers to spotlight what we expect from them: OTT action, mentions of family, and sweaty, sweary muscled blokes trading barbs while beating up baddies. There's plenty of all it all in the latest look at the film.

This Fast spin-off finds Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Luke Hobbs and Jason "The Stath" Statham's Deckard Shaw teaming up to stop a more violent threat to the world; in this case it's Idris Elba's genetically and technologically enhanced super-soldier Brixton. Who, if this new trailer is to believed, has a touch of Thanos Syndrome and is in possession of a virus that can wipe out half the population.

Or at least, he used to be... After Shaw's British Intelligence agent Hattie (Vanessa Kirby) half-inches it, the chase is on to keep it out of Brixton's powerful paws. Cue lots of madcap vehicular destruction and, from the looks of it, The Rock trying to pull off (with a little help from trucks) Steve Rogers' chopper trick from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Yep, they've gone superheroic for sure....

With director David Leitch pumping up the action volume and a cast that also includes Eiza González, Cliff Curtis, Eddie Marsan and Helen Mirren as the Shaw siblings' mother Magdalene, Hobbs And Shaw drives into UK cinemas on 2 August.
