Woody Harrelson is determined to see hemp legalised - but not the psychoactive variety, otherwise known as marijuana. The actor isn't prepared to give up on his mission to have the growing of industrial hemp made legal again, because he believes it's well worth fighting for. He says, "It's a very important issue in this country because they're cutting down 50 million trees a year for paper. Ninety per cent of the world's forests have been devastated and half of it is for paper. Up until the late 1800's most of the paper made was from hemp." He elaborates, "It's important that this country and the industries in this country retool. We're a petroleum, nuclear, pesticide, mining-based country and it's wrong because we're destroying the world. At the same time we're just making a lot of money. It does feel good to stand up for something you believe in."
