More guff about Superman Lives…

Events are getting curiouser and curiouser in the fantasy land we all know as Hollywood. The much-hyped project Superman Lives, formally Superman Reborn and formally Superman Yawn before that, has hit another iceberg of confusion with reports that hip director Tim Burton has not been axed from the project after all. Reports flooding Variety newspaper today suggest that both the star Nicholas Cage and Burton are still on deck. A Warner Bros "source" - and by that we mean somebody who answers questions suspiciously like a studio executive - confirmed that comments about Burton leaving were "the speculation of a producer having an enthusiastic reaction to a new script which everyone likes but still needs work...no decision have been made about anything." It seems that Jon Peters, the mullet-headed producer in question, has been ordered to curb his "enthusiastic" reactions in future. Pure hearsay, of course, but what else is this business founded on?
