The Great Gatsby Soundtrack Revealed

One of the great mysteries of Baz Luhrmann's take on The Great Gatsby has been the choice of musical cues. Would he follow Jack Clayton in using 1920s music, Charleston, Lindy Hop and all, or... who are we kidding? He was never doing that. Instead, he recruited Jay-Z to supervise a soundtrack that, unsurprisingly, has a heavy R 'n' B and hip-hop flavour.

Pitchfork, who broke the playlist in full, reveal that the soundtrack will be available digitally from May 7 in America and a day earlier everywhere else. Lana Del Rey's 'Young And Beautiful' is released as a single on April 23, so expect that to soundtrack your next visit to anywhere in the world with a stereo.
