Government Funding A Waste Of Money

The President of the Motion Picture Association of America, Jack Valenti, has told BAFTA this week that Government funding and intervention is not the way forward for the revival of the British film industry. Instead, he said that private capital was vital for the British film industry to thrive. This will be welcome news to those who, earlier this month, called for an end to Lottery funding on the grounds that most Lottery-funded movies were unsuccessful.
