It could be an end to miserable, down-beat British films as we know them. The Arts Council has suggested that Hollywood-style audience screenings should be used to help determine which potential British film hits get lottery funding as part of a scheme to increase the number of British films released in the UK. We can presumably now also look forward to US-style end-altering shenanigans.
