Nicolas Cage has vowed that his friendship with the troublesome Sean Penn - recently in trouble for his heated letter to Fox - is well and truly over, following some reckless comments by Penn in an interview. "The door to our friendship is now closed," Cage said. The reason? Penn knocked Cage's acting choices in an interview with Newsweek, he labelled all commercial movies "abominable," and then proceeded to inform the magazine that he's simply "appalled when talented actors debase themselves" and "s**t on their profession" Banging in the final nail, he then cited Cage's work in Snake Eyes as an example. Clever boy. Worse still, Penn had made similar comments about Cage's work just three months ago in December. Burdening teh strain of Penn's opinions, Cage says he was especially upset with Penn's recent remarks because the day before the interview took place, Penn visited Cage and his wife on the set of their new movie. "He pretended to be our best friend... he kept calling us his family and then the next day he stabs me in the back" said an enraged Cage. He added that already existed enough negativity in the press, "without having your friends dump on you in public"
