Clive Owen and Ian McKellen's new flic Bent has hit trouble with US censors. They've given it an NC-17 rating - the most restrictive possible. The MPAA reckoned this was because of a "strong scene of graphic sexuality". The problem scene is set in a 1930s-era Berlin nightclub, and shows an orgy with numerous people engaged in er, various permutations of shagging. Naturally these scenes are far less graphic than those appearing between heterosexuals in "mainstream" movies which receive "R" ratings. Smacks of double standards, wouldn't you say...
