Freaky Friday Follow-Up Planned

Remember the days when Lindsay Lohan was famous as an actress in quirky teen comedies? Remember how good she was in Freaky Friday? Well, somebody does, since CBS has just optioned a novel sequel to the movie in the shape of Freaky Monday.

Now this won't involve Lohan or Jamie Lee Curtis, stars of Freaky Friday (but we just couldn't resist that picture below), since it centres on a whole new body swop. In this case, it's a smart-but-insecure teenager who ends up swapped into her teacher's body.

The novel was written by Legally Blonde: The Musical writer Heather Hachs, along with Mary Rodgers, the author of the original Freaky Friday way back in 1973. There's no word yet on a cast or crew for this one, but Mark Waters, who directed the Lee Curtis / Lohan film, is producing so it's possible he'll direct as well. Either way, expect body-switching hilarity all round (we hope).
