Sitcom star, Jamie Foxx has signed up to star in Oliver Stone's new American football flick, On Any Given Sunday, filling the gap left by rapper Sean (Puffy) Combs, who has dropped out. Foxx, star of his eponymous sitcom, will star alongside Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz and Dennis Quaid. Combs apparently backed out of the project, citing scheduling conflicts with his recording career. According to Variety, Combs also had problems mastering some of the technical aspects of the role. The John Logan script has the backup quarterback (Foxx) thrown into the limelight to guide his team to the playoffs after the starting quarterback (Quaid) gets injured. Al Pacino plays the coach. Foxx's film credits include The Truth About Cats and Dogs, Booty Call, The Great White Hype and the forthcoming Inconvenienced.
