Fire Ravages Universal Studios

A disastrous fire struck Universal Studios in California this weekend. The fire, which took almost a day to extinguish due to poor water pressure from fire hydrants, caused damage to a number of attractions and iconic film sets including, very sadly, the Courthouse Square set that was used in To Kill A Mockingbird and famously in Back To The Future. Thankfully, the clock tower from the same film is said to be largely undamaged.

Another set that was significantly damaged was New York Street, which was used for Dirty Harry, Austin Powers and, more recently, Clint Eastwood's Changeling. Both sets are scheduled to be rebuilt.
