We’re all used to Fantasy Football leagues, so it was surely only a matter of time before someone applied the idea to Hollywood.

Going beyond the idea first promised by the Hollywood Stock Exchange, Matthew Berry and Brenda Spoonemore have created Fantasy Moguls, a web site-based game that will allow you to try your luck against fellow film lovers. "Instead of being a general manager of a fantasy football team, you're a CEO of a fantasy movie studio," Berry told Variety.

Players will “draft” six films as they participate in private or public leagues, and then keep track of four scores – US gross takings, weeks spent in the top five of the charts, per-screen average and reviews. The game will let you cover three box office seasons – year (1 February to 15 January) holiday (1 November- 15 January) and summer (1 May – 15 September).

"With 16 million people playing fantasy sports, we're bullish on the mass-market appeal of redefining that game experience for entertainment," Spoonemore told the trade magazine.
