Having finished Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, slackster babe Ethan Hawke is in "serious talks" to star in an adaptation of David Guterson's Snow Falling on Cedars. Scott Hicks is up for directing a script by My Best Friend's Wedding's Ron Bass. Production is scheduled to begin in February in Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
