Exclusive: The Veteran Trailer

One day someone will make a film set in South London in which families skip merrily through parks and people have tea peacefully in Clapham without being bottled. Until that day comes, though, it'll be right up there with LV-426 as possibly the most dangerous place in cinema. Judging by its trailer, The Veteran, a new thriller starring Toby Kebbell and Brian Cox, is the filling in a Sarf La'hn smackdown sandwich between Harry Brown and the terrific-sounding Attack The Block.

Miller (Kebbell) is the veteran in question. He lives on a violent South London estate and works in surveillance, trying to bring down a gang of local thugs with ties to a terrorist organisation. When the rule of law proves ineffective, his own brand of vigilante justice comes into play. Unless the trailer doesn't show him having a parlay with the gangsters in a Clapham tearoom.

We think that's unlikely. As you can see from the picture above, Miller's not a man with much truck for passive resistance. He's read the Statham Guide To Problem Solving and he's acting on it. We saw the nuttier fringes of Kebbell's broad range when he played Johnny Quid in RocknRolla, but this looks a whole stride further loco-wards.

The Veteran is out on April 29.
