The Star Wars publicity machine moved up a gear by assembling a group of selected journalists in New York for the first public viewing of The Phantom Menace. Empire was the only UK publication fortunate enough to get an invitation. Our Reviews Editor, Ian Freer, was the lucky soul who got to hot foot it to The Big Apple for the event.
