As you'll know from his Twitter feed, The Rock wants you to start your day strong. Today he's lending you a helping hand by signed up for the intriguing monster mash that is Lore, a project that should see him putting those Dwayne Johnson boots to enough asses to thrill the glummest heart.

As reported back in 2010, **Lore **has been adapted for the big screen from Australian duo Ashley Wood and T.P. Louise's IDW comic book. It's pitched as 'Men In Black with monsters' and will see Johnson recruited to join the ultra-secretive Shepherds. Their duties involve keeping a phalanx of mythological beasties at bay and keeping humanity safe from a nasty case of the krakens.

With mythological tales so hot right now, graphic novels raising pulses in Hollywood and the whiff of franchise in their nostrils, four studios bid for the property. Of them, Warner Bros. emerged triumphant, hopefully brandishing the contract over its head while surveying the bodies of the vanquished and bellowing war cries. After all, that's what The Rock would demand.

**Priest **writer Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott have been hard at work on the adaptation, which should go into production later this summer. Look out, too, for further news on Johnson's other beastie bonanza The Monster Hunter's Survivor Guide. Monster monster!
