DVD Comes Of Age

The format has finally established its credentials as a serious film medium following the first successful bust of a DVD piracy ring. French and British Police in collaboration with anti-piracy organisations seized almost a million dollars worth of stock from a warehouse near Paris. Destined for the Americas, the shipment found itself on an unscheduled French stop over before shipment to the UK. The disks were to be distributed to private clients and video clubs in the UK, France, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Portugal and Australia. The French vilains responsible face the music in court this week.
