Dear Santa. Okay, clearly you weren’t listening when we asked for a moratorium on over-cutesy “family” Christmas movies. We like to think we’ve been very good boys and girls here at Empire these past five months, so we’re surprised to see a new film being planned.
Santa Paws will feature a stray dog (Aaah…. Bleugh) who hitches a ride on Santa’s sleigh and ends up at his North Pole HQ. We’re pretty sure he ends up charming everyone and spreading holiday cheer and doesn’t suffer a cold, agonising death in the frozen wastelands.
Paws is in development at Vanguard Animation, who brought us war pigeon comedy Valiant. The new film was pitched by Bruce Nash, and will have to compete to see if it gets a green light. The company is already in production on its next movie, Space Chimps.
