The latest news on the big budget, big-screen version of Doctor Who, announced earlier this week in Cannes by BBC Films head honcho David Thompson, is that the Time Lord may well be a Time Lady. Insiders on the project, development of which started about a week ago, said that no casting decisions had been finalised, although the character would definitely be British. "We could cast a man or a woman. That's possible, although we haven't decided yet," said Thompson. As long as it isn't Caroline Quentin.
