Dirty Drop Outs

It seems that just because you've spent a lot of money setting up a film and sweet-talking your stars, it doesn't mean they'll actually do any acting for you these days. Sean Connery was apparently all set to appear in 'Where The Money Is' alongside Linda Fiorentino, playing a stroke victim who may or may not be faking his illness - but he's pulled out at the last minute to play a cat-burglar in 'Entrapment'. Whether cat burglars are handicapped by using a Zimmer frame is not mentioned. Previously, he'd withdrawn from playing the bad guy in yet another John Grisham courtroom drama, 'Runaway Jury'. More mysterious is Brad Pitt's sudden departure from his much-heralded new project. He was to play the lead role in 'Custer Marching To Valhalla,' which follows the life of General George Custer, including his relationship with his wife and his rather amusing defeat at Little Big Horn. Pitt had been associated with the film for some time, but no reasons have been given for his pulling out. His last film, 'Seven Years In Tibet,' hasn't exactly set box-offices alight.
