DreamWorks Animation has picked up the rights to illustrated childrens' book Dinotrux, a move that will fuse dinosaurs and - wait for it - trucks, in what will no doubt be a fully 3D-ified screen incarnation.
Like a carbon-emitting Jurassic Park, Dinotrux imagines a prehistoric age in which the world was ruled by creatures that were part dinosaur, part truck, and boasted names like Craneosaurus, Garbageadon and EddieStobartdocus. (Ok, not the last one).
With Dinotrux not even published until June, the six-figure DreamWorks deal is something of a coup for its writer Chris Gall, a commercial illustrator with the New York Times and Newsweek.
For those of you with little'uns, Dinotrux looks like a handy way of teaching them about the dinosaurs and the long-distance haulage all at the same time. Gale promises rumbling, roaring, and chomping, and hints at **Transformers **style dino-schisms...
