In what looks like a growing trend at Dreamworks animation studios, Shark Tale is to follow in the footsteps of Shrek 2 by using different voices for the same character depending on the territory. The piscean picture, out later this year, features a TV newsreader fish called Katie Current based on and voiced by the similarly alliterative US personality Katie Couric. Now the Aussies are to have their own equivalent talent on board, with presenter Tracy Grimshaw taking the vocal reigns for the Australian release. There is no word as yet on whether the UK will also be individually catered for, but it is highly possible given that both presenters are virtual non-entities over here. This all follows hot on the heels of the recent casting of Jonathon Ross and Kate Thornton in roles occupied in the American release by Larry King and Joan Rivers respectively in Shrek 2. This move in particular seems more than a tad bizarre, given the sturdy profiles King and Rivers enjoy over here. Still, all this effort does seem just a tad redundant. American TV personalities have been appearing as themselves in film after film
